Math and reading tutoring for Grades 3 to 6, from an experienced classroom teacher
For children in North York, Thornhill, Richmond Hill and Vaughan who are falling behind, losing confidence, or working hard without the results to show for it. In your home or online.
Does this sound like your child?
Most of the time the problem is not this year's work. It is a piece that went missing earlier, and everything since has been built on top of it.

Why a Grade 5 math problem can start in Grade 3
Eva explains, in under two minutes, why more practice on this year's work often doesn't help, and what does.
How tutoring with Eva is different
It starts by finding the gap
More worksheets rarely fix a missing foundation. Eva first finds where the difficulty actually begins, then works from there.
It follows your child's class
Sessions connect to the Ontario curriculum and to what your child is doing in school right now, so the help shows up in class, not just at the table.
Confidence comes back with the skills
Children stop learning when they feel stupid. Eva makes it safe to get things wrong, so your child keeps trying long enough to get them right.
What Eva helps with
Math tutoring
Place value, multiplication and division facts, fractions, word problems and multi-step questions. For children who are behind, stuck, or have decided they are "bad at math."
Reading and writing
Reading comprehension, fluency, spelling, and getting ideas from a child's head onto paper. Including children with diagnosed or suspected dyslexia.
How it works
A first session
Eva works with your child, finds the starting point, and sends you a short written note on what she saw.
A weekly plan
Regular sessions that fill the missing pieces and keep pace with what is happening in class.
Progress you can see
A written check-in every four sessions, so you always know what has improved and what comes next.
What tutoring costs
Clear prices, no contracts. Eva comes to your home, or works with your child online at the same price.

Why Eva notices what others miss
Eva had dyslexia and a speech impediment as a child, and found reading, writing and math hard. She repeated courses. She took calculus three times.
So she knows what a child does when learning is hard and they would rather nobody noticed: the strategies for looking like you are keeping up, and what it costs to appear fine.
After 17 years of teaching, those are still the children she pays closest attention to.

Not sure tutoring is the right next step?
If you are still trying to work out what is going on, Eva's Learning Roadmap is a written review of your child's schoolwork and report card, with a clear plan of what to do first. $199, done entirely online.
Or start with the free Homework Observation Guide: four moments to watch during one ordinary homework session.
Book a first session
Tell Eva a little about your child. She replies personally within one business day. No obligation.
The first session is where Eva finds the starting point: what your child already has solid, and where the gap begins. Every plan after that is built from it.
